Ten eerste zou hier een man genaamd Kräuter-Jost zijn gestorven.
Ten tweede geeft de riddersteen "een verwijzing naar twee [...] verre zandstenen platen. Ze zijn verbonden met de legende van de dode man. Beide stenen liggen op de grenslijn tussen Roschbach en Hainfeld."
Er kan worden aangenomen dat dit grensstenen zijn. Er staan verschillende inscripties op: (rand)nummering, letters (H voor Hainbach; RO voor Roschbach) en een stokfiguur. Het zou dus de “Todtermann” kunnen zijn.
