    De St. Michaeliskerk is de op één na grootste kerk van de parochie Nienburg. De prachtige kerk in zijn huidige vorm werd gebouwd in 1864. Maar er zijn ook overblijfselen van het eerdere gebouw: de doopvont bijvoorbeeld, zoals delen van de kerktoren, dateert uit de Middeleeuwen. Bij de entree zijn ook delen van de voormalige doopkapel te zien. Het doopvont daar wordt vandaag de dag nog steeds gebruikt voor dopen: drakenburg-heemsen.wir-e.de
