    De Kolomanskirche is de oudste nog bestaande houten kerk van heel Oostenrijk. Het is opgedragen aan de Ierse zwervende monnik Koloman. Toen hij Oostenrijk bereikte op zijn pelgrimstocht naar Jeruzalem, werd hij gearresteerd en zelfs ter dood veroordeeld vanwege zijn vreemde uiterlijk. Zijn lichaam ontbond echter niet en in plaats daarvan vonden er talloze wonderen plaats. De kerkleiders realiseerden zich al snel dat hier een heilige was vermoord. Tegenwoordig zijn er in heel Oostenrijk verschillende kerken en kloosters die zijn naam dragen.
