    De dam van de Pöhl-dam is een gebogen betonnen zwaartekrachtdam. De dam werd gebouwd van 1958 tot 1964 in de buurt van Jocketa (tegenwoordig onderdeel van de gemeente Pöhl) in Vogtland (in gebruik genomen in 1964). De dam ontleent zijn naam aan het dorp Pöhl, dat nu onder water staat. In feite dient de onderwatersite echter als duikattractie. De afgedamde watermassa, de Trieb, is een zijrivier van de Witte Elster.

    Een blik van onderaf is ook een aanrader! Een wandeling door de Triebal-vallei leidt direct naar de dam. Deze tour is zeer aangenaam, vooral als het erg warm is. Het water is ijskoud (zelfs midden in de zomer) en koelt de hele vallei af.
