    De muur en torens van het Kremlin van Moskou behoren tot de oudste nog bestaande bouwwerken in Moskou. Oorspronkelijk werden ze gebouwd als een fort om de kern van de stad te beschermen tegen aanvallen. Het grootste deel van het huidige fortificatiecomplex werd aan het einde van de 15e eeuw gebouwd door Italiaanse architecten. Een doorlopende stadsmuur, 20 wachttorens en een voormalige opklapbare toegangsbrug tot een van de torens zijn bewaard gebleven.
