Over millennia, erosion and karstification, where water gradually leaches the rock, created this unique breakthrough. The surrounding area, known as the Hexenboden, features bizarre sponge-calcite formations, tiny caves, and 'Kolken' – depressions formed by water erosion, making it a fascinating site for geology enthusiasts.
