    Op de plaats van een verwoest stenen huis in de wijk Vrsar, begon de wereldberoemde kunstenaar Dušan Džamonja in 1965 met de bouw van zijn huis in Istrië, dat samen met dat in Zagreb (waar hij voornamelijk modellen en originele sculpturen maakte) en de studio in Brussel , wordt gebruikt om te tekenen, wordt de focus van zijn werk. Džamonja bouwde en realiseerde zijn huis in Vrsar als vakantieverblijf met een huis, werkkamer, atelier, privégalerij, werkplaats, appartement voor helpers en een beeldenpark.
