Word meaning Blapbach: The word Blapbach one must look probably not in the height, but in the valley floor of Jlfis in Trubschachen. There are on the left valley floor and on two terraces above three homes Lower, Upper Blapbach and Blapbachbergli. Settlement by the Alemanni took place during the first centuries. They first made the vast Talgefilde with their terraces, meadows and rubble cones as their own. The name Blapbach could therefore be related to a Bacheinmündung, it is still the two side brooks Ortbach and Teufenbach, outside Blapbach their debris cone in the main valley of the Jlfis verplättern and so the Jlfis crowd on the other side of the valley.

Blapbach = Plattbach, on flat ground: The opening of the Küheralpen, the mountain pastures happened in later times, as the Talbauern further cleared and looked for their Talheimeten summering grounds for their livestock. This enabled them to increase the livestock, as they could now hay and feed the Talheim people for winter stable feeding.

Later, especially in the 18th century, many alpine pastures were borrowed from well-to-do Bernese patrons with Gülten and acquired in the event of insolvency of the creditors. So or in a similar way many Emmentaleralpen came in urban patrician possession or like the Alps Blapbach and Surmettlen in the possession of Inselkorporation Bern. She was supplied with butter and mountain cheese by an employed cowherd from these Alps. Since the departure and driveway of the cattle and the products was the ridge against the Schüpbach bridge, it was also the island corporation, the owners of the Alps Gyrsgrat 1839/40 (on the Eggiwiler side) to the better development of the mountain path on the dangerous there Fluhübergang (Geissrücken) made a considerable contribution to the tunneling. The Gyrsgratloch or Hegenloch, as the tunnel is called depending on the mountain side, was probably next to the Urnerloch 1707 the second oldest tunnel in Switzerland.
