    De fontein is toegankelijk van buiten de kerk. Al snel werd op de gezegende plaats een heiligdom aan de kant van de weg opgericht en de bron werd een heilige bron genoemd. Heiligenbronn is een bekend bedevaartsoord met een onlangs gerenoveerde bedevaartskerk "Aan de bedroefde moeder van God".

    De Heilige Bronnen direct naast de bedevaartskerk, waaraan deze plaats zijn naam dankt, heeft goed bronwater. Ik drink dit water graag onderweg. Er zijn een paar treden naar beneden naar de prachtige fonteinkamer.
