    Het park is in 1957 vernoemd naar de beeldhouwer Georg Kolbe. Kolbe had zijn huis en atelier in de buurt. Tegenwoordig vind je hier het Georg Kolbe Museum en in zijn voormalige woning het Café K. In het begroeide park, dat in een geul uit de ijstijd loopt, staan 5 meer dan levensgrote figuren van de kunstenaar. Alle figuren werden pas na de dood van de kunstenaar voltooid door de Noack-gieterij. De ontwerpen stammen uit de tijd van het nationaal-socialisme.
    Het park staat sinds 1989 op de monumentenlijst.
