    The Jägerstein or Sachsenstein commemorates the ducal Landjägermeister Johannes Michael Sachs, who was killed (murdered?) in a mysterious hunting accident on June 6th, 1722.
    The memorial stone was erected at the instigation of the Meiningen duke Ernst Ludwig I and was originally located near the duck puddle below the Pleßhaus.
