As a place of human rights, the area between the well-known beyond the city limits ZKM and Karlsruhe's largest cinema, the "Film Palace at ZKM" called. With the ZKM, the College of Design and the Federal Prosecutor's Office, important institutions of the state - namely art, culture and law - meet here. In the summer you can also sit outside the streets in one of the cafes and restaurants and let the sun shine on your stomach.

Human Rights Square is a square in the southwest city. The square includes the area between the ZKM hall building in the west, cube and film palace in the south, commemorative stele and federal prosecutor's office in the north and Brauerstrasse in the east. In March 2015, the municipal council decided in favor of this location with a large majority. The inauguration and unveiling of the sign took place on December 10, 2015 (Human Rights Day).
