The Ayous lakes form a group of six lakes: Castérau, Miey, Gentau, Bersau, Paradis and Roumassot.

Arranged in stairs, they form a magnificent amphitheater to land and admire the Pic du Midi d'Ossau.

Camping is authorized around Lake Gentau, at the foot of the Ayous refuge.

By the path that connects the lakes of Ayous, you will find one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Pic du Midi d'Ossau. And this one, from the refuge and spectacular. It allows you to really appreciate the singular silhouette of this mythical peak of the Pyrenees. An ideal spot for a break and a coffee, or for a picnic. Especially since the refuge allows you to restore.

Eat at Refuge Ayous and stay overnight at the lake. What more could you want than waking up in the morning to grazing horses and having a cozy coffee in your sleeping bag with a view of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau. As everywhere in the national park, bivouacs are only allowed overnight. You can't leave your tent there during the day. In any case, this is one of the most beautiful bivouac spots in the Pyrenees.
