One of the oldest refuges in all the Apuan Alps, the view of the Bagola Bianca and the Pisanino is wonderful. Excellent starting point for excursions on the northern Apuane.

The Donegani Refuge is a good base for various crossings along the paths of the Northern Apuan Alps.
How to get to the refuge:
from Minucciano, following the road of the marble quarries to Orto di Donna.
From the Guido Donegani refuge numerous excursions are possible on the surrounding mountains:
Pisanino, Cavallo, Contrario, Grondilice, Pizzo d'Uccello.

The structure (located about 1250 meters above sea level) was built in 1960 by the Montecatini company as a canteen for the workers of the nearby marble quarries. With the passage of time, the destination for use by quarrymen loses its functionality and so, the engineer Guido Donegani transforms the structure into a mountain refuge, leaving the management to the C.A.I. of Lucca.
