At 2,730 feet (827 m) Cadair Berwyn is the highest point around and the highest of the Berwyn Hills. The views are great and it's also a quiet part of upland Wales, so you're likely to have the hills to yourself. You can reach the summit from various start points depending on the length of walk you want.

Stunning views from the summit area and a great walk to take in eleven UK Nuttalls in one outing. Not the best of weather days but nice to be out in the quieter rather hidden hills of the Berwyns.

Someone has savagely blocked off the path to cadair berwyn summit on this route with barbed wire. Lovely walk up, but was most disappointed that I couldn't reach the summit and north top.

This point, at 832 meters (2,730 feet), is 5 meters taller than Moel Sych and was officially recognized after a rambler's discovery in 1987.

Are there any alternative starting points for hiking Cadair Berwyn Summit besides Tan-y-pistyll?

Yes, while Tan-y-pistyll is a popular starting point, hikers can also access Cadair Berwyn from various other locations depending on the desired length and difficulty of the walk. The Berwyn range offers multiple routes, allowing for different approaches to the summit and its surrounding peaks.

How challenging are the hiking trails to Cadair Berwyn Summit for beginners?

The trails to Cadair Berwyn Summit are generally considered intermediate to challenging. While not overly technical, the terrain can be rugged, and conditions can change rapidly, especially in adverse weather. Beginners should choose shorter, well-defined routes and ensure they are adequately prepared with appropriate gear and navigation skills.
