가끔씩만 해가 비추던 바람 부는 부활절 날, 우리는 먼저 웃음과 기쁨으로 가득한 평소의 5km 아침 ParkRun을 달렸습니다. 그런 다음 우리는 Oxford 운하를 따라 북쪽으로 자전거를 탔습니다. 이 길은 제가 여러 번 가본 길입니다. 그리고 변함없이 우리는 50년도 더 전에 Mike Oldfield가 그의 상징적인 앨범 "Tubular Bells"를 녹음했던 Shipton-on-Cherwell에 들렀습니다.

Ox로 돌아오자 벚꽃나무들은 태양을 숭배하느라 바빴고, 밤이 내리기 시작하자 세라피나는 봄을 위한 기도를 읊기 시작했습니다:

로마인들이 결국 파리가 된 이곳을 불렀던 루테티아 파리시오룸에서의 또 다른 매혹적인 오후였습니다.



더 이상 센 강(La Seine)과 시테 섬(Île de la Cité)의 왼쪽 강둑에 위치한 작고 습한 정착지가 아닌 파리는, 제공할 것이 너무 많고, 위대한 아름다움의 순간들이 너무 많은, 가장 흥미로운 수도 중 하나로 성장했습니다.



대부분 목적 없이 거닐다가, 우리는 가장 아름다운 날에 기쁨을 가져다준 멋진 즉흥 댄스 공연에 맞춰 춤추지 않을 수 없었습니다.

세계 시의 날을 맞아 파리에서 보낸 하루는 새벽부터 황혼까지 12시간 내내 태양이 빛났습니다.



우리는 몽마르뜨에서 황금빛 새벽을 맞으며 깨어나는 거대한 도시를 내려다보았습니다. 아직도 "T'es pas là, mais t'es partout"라는 그래피티의 희미한 흔적이 남아 있어 돌아가신 나의 위대한 친구를 떠올리게 했습니다..



우리는 파리의 인파가 뷔트-쇼몽 공원의 언덕에서 태양과 교감하는 것을 보기 전에 루브르 박물관까지 달렸다가 돌아왔습니다.

또 다른 영광스러운 새벽이 약속되었기에, 나는 Oxfordshire의 멋진 전망을 다시 한번 경험하기 위해 Shotover 언덕으로 자전거를 타고 올라갔다. 하지만 안개는 걷히지 않았고, 대신 나의 옛 단골 장소들은 거의 신비롭게 느껴졌다. 그래서 나는 다시 한번 Serafina에게 내 기분을 좋게 해달라고 의지했다. 그녀는 깊은 안개를 뚫고 100미터까지 올라갔고, 그곳에서 구름이 갑자기 걷히면서 태양이 모든 영광을 드러내며 미소 짓고 있었다.

For a moment, the seemingly endless rain finally cleared, and Serafina and I wandered aimlessly into a sunken world, full of the water from the confluences of seven rivers.
