Our hike begins at 6 a.m. at the Rifugio Auronzo (2,333 m), which is accessible via the toll road from Misurina. Early in the morning, when the sun paints the mighty southern faces of the Three Peaks golden, we begin the circuit. Anticipation is immense – after all, one of the most famous Dolomite classics

The section begins in Sillian at approximately 1,100 meters above sea level, directly on the Italian border. The Drau Cycle Path is clearly marked here and initially leads through the village out into the Drau Valley. The Drau River accompanies the route almost continuously.



The route follows well-maintained

It's not that easy to reach the summit cross, as there are quite a few meters of elevation to climb, but the view is simply stunning in this beautiful weather.

The day began in Mestre, Venice's mainland sister city. The city itself is lively, with a lot of traffic – but thanks to the well-developed bike paths, I felt safe. As I set off, there was a faint smell of the sea, and the thought crossed my mind: Today I'm going to ride across the water!



The Ponte della

After a short stroll across Piazza dei Signori, I hop on my bike – a relaxing riverside tour along the Sile Cycle Path awaits.



Beyond the town, the Sile River Natural Park begins. The path follows the gently flowing river, its water so clear that you can see fish even in the shade of the riverside trees

In the morning, I leave Conegliano via the old town street, past ancient arcades and under the watchful gaze of the castle on the hill. Just a few kilometers after leaving town, the landscape opens up: rolling hills lie behind me, and the vast Venetian plain begins in front of me.
