Visit Flevoland

Urk was once a small island in the Zuiderzee, before it too was incorporated into the old Dutch province through the reclamation of the Noordoostpolder. Although Urk is no longer an island today, the special atmosphere and distinctive culture of this picturesque fishing town have been preserved.
