After rain was announced in the Pielachtal early in the morning, I improvised and skipped the first planned MTB route in order to ride the Kaiserkogel route without rain and to get eastwards faster. After the completed mountain ride, a light rain set in, but it really stayed within limits. The following

This time I used my titanium gravel bike for the tour again, because it has wider tires, a Redshift elastomer stem and a lighter gear ratio than my Giant Revolt. A reduction of 31 to 36 is of course not at MTB level, but especially with a loaded bike, crisper ascents are also easy to manage. And the

For this weekend I have decided to get to know the Mostviertel better as part of a bikepacking tour. And for this I have combined some of the existing MTB routes. The routes are very asphalt-heavy for MTB routes and were therefore always too boring for me to ride them with the MTB. But with a gravel

The second day of the tour started with sunny but still cool weather, which wasn't that disturbing due to the slight tail wind. In the first section running south, I only made a few deviations from the route on gravel or for an additional view. Shortly after Friedersbach I dodged a bit into the forest

Because I have probably already cycled through most of the villages in the Weinviertel, this year the focus is more on the Waldviertel and the Mostviertel. It starts with the Kamp-Thaya-March cycle route from Retz to Krems. Since a relatively strong north wind was announced for the weekend, I reversed

In order to make the best use of a hiking day, I tried to combine as many of the highlights of the Wachau as possible in the Dunkelsteiner Forest, whereby I deliberately avoided the classic variant for the way back via the stairway along the Danube. You can expect many fascinating rocky landscapes, which

The basic idea for the tour was that I wanted to climb a little more altitude for the first time this year and I also really wanted to go to the Ferdinandwarte. Another goal was to explore beautiful paths between the observation point, Furth near Göttweig and the Danube, because I still want to close
