After two not so successful attempts to find a nice hiking tour, finally a nice circular route: not too demanding, but not boring either and above all with a breathtaking view of the coast and the interior and the Connemara National Park.

This tour was supposed to lead up a mountain, but it looked like a dead end to us, so we turned back. A local explained to us that we should have just gone through the gates, but well, hindsight is 20/20. Since we didn't want to turn back again, we decided to take a beautiful short walk along the coast...

I actually prefer circular routes, but the ascent and descent felt so different that it was OK. The goal is a small chapel on the summit. The ascent is challenging, even if no climbing skills are required...it is just strenuous. After the descent you can go to the pub below.
