Wolff on Tour

The Wildflecken training area opens its doors to hikers every year on the last weekend in July.

I've actually always done the tour on Saturdays...but that wasn't possible this year.

I can see the Dalherdaer Kuppe from home, and on Saturday it was covered in clouds until midday...so I was glad I didn't

We did pretty much the same tour three years ago from Bregenz. We also stayed in Konstanz and also took a trip to the Rhine Falls. It was a great cycling holiday.

Reulbach, with its beautiful chapel and small natural pond, was finally back on our agenda.

Judging by the hiking signage, it could have been the extra tour - The Ehrenberger.

Since we had another appointment, we shortened the tour a bit so we wouldn't be completely late :-)

So, after the disastrous start, things should have gotten better...The mood improved with every meter.

The last stage was very beautiful...especially Stein am Rhein is an impressively beautiful place.

We romantically endured a short rain shower at the bus stop :-) and then we headed along the riverbank

Last stage, we've done it...hurray.

That's the theory...in practice, it was a disastrous start...we went to the Aunt Ema store before the start to buy drinks for the day...instead of following the navigation, I thought it was a bit of a shortcut, because

Today it was country hopping time...we started from Höchst (AT) and headed for the Swiss part of Lake Constance.

Our destination was again Konstanz...our starting point. We didn't want to spend the night in Switzerland for cost reasons, and Konstanz was on the way.

Day 2:

Unfortunately, we couldn't start as early as we wanted...to avoid the merciless heat.

Today we headed from Meersburg to Austria...we drove through Friedrichshafen, the Wasserburg peninsula, the island of Lindau, and Bregenz to Höchst.

In Bregenz, we were able to watch the dress rehearsal at the lakeside

The hotels were booked...the sun was forecast for the entire week...now there were no more excuses.

I was still incredibly respectful of the task when I realized the size of Lake Constance the evening before.

But the anticipation was greater...so off we went.
