A nice tour, especially because of the quiet little alpine pasture on the way to the lake with its impressive ancient maple trees. The Oltschiburg is certainly even more impressive. Oltschi towers over the frozen Hinterburgseeli like a king from times long past. However, the paths are very icy in winter

The Stechlin is one of my heart lakes. Deep, clear, clean and cold. You can still hear silence here, especially on the back side of the peninsula. Yesterday I saw cranes or herons there... Very nice circular hike with a tempting opportunity to stop off in cozy, authentic Bramisegg (closed Monday and Tuesday). Fantastic views of Lake Brienz - in January.
