A beautiful, varied tour, although there are some steep sections just before the Wendeleiche and the Rote Schuss, where it's easy to slip. The zigzag path down from the Rote Schuss, on the other hand, is no problem.

The Heart Trail is beautifully laid out, with lots of interesting information, interactive stations, and great views of Altenau. It's 12 km long in total. We hiked the first 9 km and saved the last section for another hike. There are several restaurants and a great café in the village.

The Adonis adonis are blooming beautifully and this year there were even more numerous than last time, there are many great views of the Harz foreland and blooming blackthorn and cherry trees, always beautiful there.
