Zu Hause gestartet, durch die Felder nach Oetmannshausen, von dort über die A44 zum Sonnenblick und weiter zur Hoffmannsbuche. Dann vom Zungenkopf um den Trimberg herum und am Gestüt wieder hinunter. Durch die Gestütsweiden zu den Teichen hinter der Zieglei Abbau, über das Ostportal wieder nach Oetmannshausen und an der Wehre wieder zurück nach Hoheneiche.

Iseo liegt am Südufer des Lago d’Iseo in der Lombardei und ist mit rund 9.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt am See sowie Namensgeber des Gewässers. Die Stadt war über Jahrhunderte ein strategischer Ort, wechselte zwischen der Herrschaft von Brescia, Venedig, den Spaniern und Habsburgern und wurde im 19. Jahrhundert durch Garibaldi-Truppen Teil des geeinten Italiens. Zu den Highlights zählen die Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi mit dem ältesten Garibaldi-Denkmal, das Castello Oldofredi, die romanische Pfarrkirche Sant’Andrea und mehrere historische Kirchen. In der Nähe liegt das Naturschutzgebiet Torbiere del Sebino, und von Iseo starten Fähren zur autofreien Insel Monte Isola, der größten Binneninsel Europas. Start in Parzanica, steiler Auftieg über den Pilgerweg zur Bergkirche, dann weiter zum Monte Credo. Ein Stück über Fahrwege talwärts und wieder hoch zum Punta del Bert, über Wiesenwege zum Monte Mandolino, dann über Waldwege Richtung Monte Soreano und vor dort wieder Abstieg nach Parzanica.

Today's hike was meant to be quick and easy, and the Wichtelbrunnen (Gnome Fountain) seemed like the perfect destination. The members of the Reichensachsen branch of the Werratal hiking club run the mountain hut every first and third Sunday of the month, so that settled it.
