Another very nice hike, this time in the Thuringian Slate Mountains. I only skipped the Thuringian Warthe. The clouds were hanging a bit too low for good visibility.

Finally, a hike with @Kirsten again, it's been a long time coming! 😉 Of course, a Christmas market was a must for the second Sunday of Advent. We had very pleasant weather, great views, beautiful paths, a tower, a cave, a castle, and a lovely little Christmas market, not to mention the wonderful conversations

Finally, after three rainy Sundays, the weather allowed for a hike in Franconia. I had another wonderful time on the Rennsteig trail. I also enjoyed a great break at the Rennsteighaus Brennersgrün. For the third Sunday in a row, I tried to escape the rain today with an alternative activity. This time it only partially worked. 🤔 The visit to the Rakotz Bridge was actually planned for nice weather, but even so it was a real highlight. I'll come back sometime when the rhododendrons are in bloom.

Today I escaped the bad weather in Thuringia and went on a long-planned city trip to Würzburg. Finally, I tried out that lovely direct connection from Gera to Würzburg.

Today is my second stage on the Way of St. James from Erfurt to Coburg.
I started in the morning in Arnstadt, in quite cold temperatures. So I walked a little faster; I never felt cold. 😉
I liked this stage better. Mostly beautiful paths, even a mountain climb. Today's highlight was, of course, the Paulinzella monastery ruins.
