The SRs 6300 bucket wheel excavator was one of the largest excavators of its kind in the world. It was dismantled in 1989 and the mine was completely closed in 1991 after only a short period of operation. What remains is the 17-meter-high and 180-ton paddle wheel. You will find other smaller components of the opencast mine around the imposing wheel.

The technical monument is 17 meters high and weighs about 180 tons. It belonged to a bucket wheel excavator from the Delitzsch Südwest opencast mine. The SRs 6300 excavator was blown up in 1996 and various remains were used as an open-air museum.
