Arild's Chapel, the only surviving coastal chapel in Skåne, was named after a local saint who, according to legend, lived in the 11th or 12th century. As late as the 18th century, chapel services were held only during fishing and during the great festivals of Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and St. Michael. Next to St. Arild, the chapel in Arild was dedicated to St. Michael and the Virgin Mary.

In a letter from the Pope in Rome dated May 8, 1475 Arild's chapel is mentioned for the first time. In the 18th century, the church also received the remaining in the chapel votive ship. It is one of the best preserved votive boats in Skåne and is a galias that was circulated across the Strait at that time. The model was built by the ferryman Cornelius Eriksson Bohle, who also produced a votive ship found in the Mariakyrkan in Helsingborg.
The baptismal font made of oak wood was made in the 1970s by master carpenter Verner Persson in Höganäs.
Only the drowned are buried in the small cemetery surrounding the chapel.
