Aalen is a city in eastern Baden-Württemberg. The 67,000-inhabitant city lies at the foot of the Swabian Alb. The Romans already had a garrison on the grounds of the former Free Imperial City. Today, Aalen is the capital of the Ostalbkreis, university town and also industrial shaped.
