"Between 1913 and 1934, Berlin Modernist housing estates were built in various parts of Berlin and the suburbs. With their clearly structured forms, these housing estates became influential in the architecture and urban development of the 20th century (see also WIKIPEDIA: "Berlin Modernist housing estates"). The architect of this housing estate is Otto Rudolf Salvisberg. You have to take your time to understand Salvisberg's ideas about living. There are no eye-catching highlights, everything is structured and gives me a harmonious, village-like impression. A village in the middle of the city district. The appeal of this housing estate lies in the consistent repetition of the house and door shapes, the lattice windows, the white door surrounds and the scratch plaster on the house facades. The connection to the Brandenburg region lies in the "setting" of the housing estate in the now over 100-year-old pine forest. Only a few examples of these are still standing today."
