Those who respect themselves walk and enjoy meter by meter. I feel sorry for these poor donkeys - the sometimes "disproportionate" human loads they have to drag up in the scorching heat day after day is horrific even for the observer!

Path from the old port to the mountain top (about 360 meters in altitude) either on foot or by gondola or by donkey (-). The "transport" of vacationers who are unwilling or unable to walk with whipped, sweating donkeys is disgusting.

It's a good 300 meters difference in altitude and 588 steps. Quite challenging in the blazing sun. That's why I did it at 09:00 in the morning. Then the steps are still in the shade and you can enjoy going down and up. There is also a gondola that goes up quickly. And you feel sorry for the donkeys because the tourists get fatter from year to year, but not the animals. One should introduce a kilometer limit, the others should go into the gondola.
