+++About the cave
Baredine Cave is a karst phenomenon, a geomorphological monument of nature and the first speleological site in Istria opened to tourism, which has been open to visitors since 1995.

+++Location
Baredine Cave is located in western Istria near Nova Vas between Poreč, Višnjan and Tar, and is only 5 km away from the coast. It is surrounded by rich prehistoric sites, Istrian castles, antique villas, medieval monasteries and still preserved natural landscapes.
+++ Creation
The karst terrain in which the cave was formed is a sea sediment covered with red earth (terra rossa) from the Cretaceous period (100 million years old). This cave is a treasury of stalagmites and stalactites, as well as underground sculptures, formed by the patient and long-term action of the water. This is how magical stalactite forms were formed, of which the ten meter long "curtains", a very realistic statue of the Mother of God, the figure of the shepherdess Milka, the leaning tower of Pisa and the snowman - the torch bearer, which has become the symbol of this cave, are particularly impressive ( Source: baredine.com/de/hohle-baredine/)
