    The famous luxury hotel with a view of the Cevedale has been languishing for 67 years and is in danger of collapsing in parts.
    The building is fenced off, locked and entering is a criminal offence.
    It belongs to the owners of the Forst Brewery in Merano.

      Make sure to walk the entire loop clockwise! That means from the Enzianhütte car park via the Plimaschlucht adventure trail to the Zufallhütte. From there, take the new path 150/33A into the Pedertal and then back to the car park.
      Komoot recorded the walking time incorrectly, probably because the new path is not yet known. At a leisurely pace, with breaks to look around and take photos, the whole loop took about 5 hours.

        Fascinating, red ruin of the former luxury hotel "Paradiso" (anno 1933-35). Until the outbreak of the 2nd World Luxury hotel with post office, butcher, baker, hairdresser, etc .. Was extended after 1952 by a shipowner and painted red, but never reopened. Owned by a South Tyrolean brewery family since 1966 - the former hotel disappears rapidly ... Can only be visited from the outside and has something "mystical" ... ;-).

            The Hotel Paradiso is located on the ascent to the Zufallhütte. It is a ruined building that reflects part of South Tyrol's history. I took a photo of the information board and it still contains details about the history of the "Paradiso" - I hope you can read it.

              The Hotel Paradieso del Cevedale was a luxury hotel with an unusual architectural style at an altitude of 2088 m with a view of the Cevedale and the Accidental Peaks. In 1937 it was opened. All comforts were offered to the wealthy guests: post and telegraph office, butcher, confectioner, hairdresser, masseur, ski instructor, reading room, sauna, tavern... The unique contact with nature was in the foreground, like observing ibex. In winter, guests from Japan were brought here by sleigh carriages.

                The hotel, built in 1935, was very popular before World War II. During the war, it was occupied by the German Wehrmacht and the SS in 1943 and served as a spy school for all German military branches until its collapse in 1945. From here, the glacier was guarded and deserters or returnees were arrested or shot. In 1952, Mr. Benati from Venice bought the hotel, had it enlarged and painted red. It was never finished and has been empty since 1955. In 1966, Ing. Alois Fuchs bought the hotel, who still owns it. It was robbed and is now falling into disrepair.
