Branddirekttor Erich Tiedt was instrumental in the construction of the 1st Prussian fire school and the recreation home in the castle Bahrensdorf in Beeskow involved. To commemorate his work, a memorial stone was erected on the grounds of the castle in 1930 (a year after his death). This had to give way to construction in 1983, was re-erected in 1994 and implemented in 2006 on the grounds of the provincial fire school. On the initiative of a local association, a copy of the memorial stone was erected in 2008 at the present location.
