    Autoire has joined the ranks of the "most beautiful villages in France". Set amongst high cliffs, the old buildings give the place an air of calm and tranquility.

      The seemingly medieval and idyllic townscape of Autoire has changed very little in recent years. The place offers - unlike in neighboring Loubressac - a mixture of natural stone or half-timbered facades.
      The Château des Anglais from the 11./12. Century was recognized in 1925 as a monument historique. It is located below a rock overhang (abri) above the village.
      The 17th century Château de Bousqueilles has been converted into a hotel. It is recognized since 1991 as monument historique.
      The 15th century Château de Limargue impresses with a high round tower with a small side staircase tower; it is not to be visited (private property). The tower has been designated as a monument historique since 1929.
