Hut hiking at the foot of Königsspitze, Zebrù and Ortler.
It is not a fixed path, but a route with orange-yellow marked wooden posts, which have to be repositioned every year, because the glacier is constantly in motion.

The glacier path below the Königspitze and Zebrù is very interesting. It is actually not a path, you follow set poles and cairns and every step is a challenge. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have really sturdy hiking shoes. I needed about 2 hours for the 5 km long route from the Hintergrathütte to the Schaubachhütte.

Strictly speaking, you are walking on the glacier, which is covered all over with rubble and boulders. In some places where the water drains, the ice emerges and forms interesting shapes and curves. When I left, one of the slope glaciers rumbled loudly and ice masses broke off and there was a small waterfall for a short time.

A highly recommended, but also challenging, trail with stunning views of the mountains and glaciers. You'll definitely need sturdy shoes and surefootedness for this route. Always keep your eyes open for where the trail leads! It's sometimes not so easy to see.
