    If you are in the region, you must climb the castle. We were surprised by the large area, the castle and the monastery, on the mountain. You can spend a lot of time here. A special highlight before the climb is the mountain church, you should definitely go in there.

                The Oybin is 514 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Zittau Mountains above the town of the same name in southeast Saxony. It contains the ruins of Oybin Castle, which Emperor Charles IV had converted into his retirement home, and a Celestine monastery that was founded in 1369.

                The hilltop castle complex occupies the entire summit area of the Oybin mountain. In addition to the actual castle on the west side with the imperial house, it also includes the monastery ruins, the mountain cemetery of the Oybin community and a castle restaurant. There is a camera obscura at the highest point of the mountain. The Oybin mountain church, located on the slope, has paintings inside that are worth seeing.
