Around the year 1760, two 100-meter-long galleries were dug into the mountain in the Seven Years' War. Around 1850, the "Lindener Brewery" has three 50-meter-long ice cellars next to it (photo). Here the ice is stored for the brewery and for restaurants. From 1934 to 2000, the former Eiskeller der Champignonzucht serve. During the Second World War basements and galleries are used as bunkers. They protect up to 3,000 Linden citizens from the bombing raids.
