The "Buk" lighthouse is the smallest and highest located lighthouse on the German waterline. In the main season you can climb the tower and then have a magnificent view of the surroundings, such as Rostock, Warnemünde, Denmark, Fehmarn, Wismar, the Cooling and much more. The Bastorf lighthouse stands on the Signalberg above Cape Bukspitze and is one of the smallest in Germany. In addition to its function as an orientation fire on the western Baltic Sea, its main task is to warn of "Hannibal" a sandbar in the entrance to Wismar Bay.
