Towering high above the landscape atop a rocky crag, Beeston Castle is one of the most dramatically sited medieval castles in England. From the castle, you are afforded breathtaking views that stretch as far as the Welsh mountains on a clear day. Built in the 1220s by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, the castle also boasts a 40-acre (16 ha) woodland park, which you can still explore today.
