Ängelholms Kyrka is the town church of Ängelholm and stands in the old town center on the market square near the old town hall.

Originally built when Ängelholm was founded in the 16th century, the church was destroyed in 1565 during one of the Swedish-Danish wars.

Since political decisions at that time temporarily reduced Ängelholm to an insignificant village without town rights, the church was not initially rebuilt.

It wasn't until over 100 years later, at the beginning of the 18th century, that the present-day Ängelholms Kyrka was built on the ruins of the first church. The only object in the current church that was also in the old church is the Luntertunsklockan, an old bell cast in Landskrona in 1470 by Master Lars (Magister Laurentius). This bell has been moved three times in its history, as it originally hung in the bell tower of the former church in the village of Luntertun, the forerunner of the town of Ängelholm.

As early as the 19th century, Ängelholm Church underwent extensive renovation and expansion, during which the two transepts were added, giving the church its present exterior appearance. In the 1930s, the current pews were installed and the sacristy was added. In the 1940s, the baptismal font and the winged altarpiece with paintings by Torsten Nordberg were added as part of a comprehensive interior renovation.

Currently (as of September 2019), the church is covered and undergoing extensive restoration.
