Here stands the former ticket office and guard's house of the "Hamburg-Bergedorf Railway", which began operations in 1842. The station building, built in 1842, was, like all railway buildings on the line, designed by Alexis de Chateauneuf. It is therefore one of the oldest preserved station buildings in Germany.

Here in Bergedorf, there is still an old station building from 1842. It is the former ticket and guard house of the "Hamburg-Bergedorf Railway," which began operating in 1842. The station building, built in 1842, was, like all railway buildings on the line, designed by Alexis de Chateauneuf. It is therefore one of the oldest surviving station buildings in Germany. However, from 1846 onward, the railway line planned by William Lindley in 1838 led, slightly deviating from the line, via Bergedorf's second station on the border with Lohbrügge,
via Friedrichsruh - Schwarzenbek - Boizenburg and on to Berlin.
In 1990-92, the dilapidated station building was extensively restored by the "Work and Learning" association and refurbished to mark the railway's 150th anniversary.
Since 1992, the Bergedorf District Landowners' Association has been based in the "Old Train Station." Tours are possible, and an information leaflet on the station's history is available.

The adjacent building houses the Lohbrügger Bürgerbühne theater workshop.

The connection to Bergedorf-Lohbrügge and the Vierlande and Marschlande areas is documented by a small permanent exhibition of Wolfgang Götze drawings.

He captured the district in countless ballpoint pen drawings between 1960 and 1980.

The "collotypes" on display provide a good impression of his work.
