Next to Preikestolen and Trolltunga, this is probably the most visited rock formation. However, the ascent and descent require more stamina and better gear than the route to Preikestolen. Anyone wearing sneakers here is doing something wrong. Nevertheless, you'll see many tourists wearing inappropriate clothing. This applies to both shoes and jackets and pants.
If you want, you can stand on Kjeragbolten and you'll surely find someone to take a photo. It wasn't for me; the cliff drops 1,000 meters vertically.

The absolute highlight of southern Norway, after a very strenuous hike to the destination, is Kjerag. For me personally, this is much more interesting than Preikestolen.
