On the Michelsberg there is a war horse memorial from the two world wars and a pavilion on the site of the former chapel. The war victims memorial was built through donations from the city's citizens and was unveiled in August 1924. The peace staircase leads up 241 steps to the Michelsberg. Well worth the climb, great view.

The long-term, peaceful bourgeois resistance in Gräfenberg sent clear signals against the extreme right-wing activities that terrorized the city for years. But in our time too, constant vigilance and sensitivity are required. The city of Gräfenberg therefore decided a long time ago to install a small but weighty peace sign at the foot of the stairs to the war memorial, the goal of the neo-Nazi marches, as an antipole. The sculptor Wolfram von Bieren implemented this idea in two bronze handrails with text engravings.
