The current border was determined by the Bavarian-Austrian border treaty of December 2, 1851, which defines the course of the border in the Danube between Kräutelstein (Kreitelstein) and Dandlbach on the »Hauptthalweg«. In the same contract, a border straightening in the area of the herb (dig) brook was agreed.
