"... Between February 2018 and August 2019, the Niers Association redesigned the Niers in Kessel over a distance of around 1.1 km in two natural sections. In addition to an extension of around 700 m, around 860 m of new Niers tributaries were also created.
The body of water was significantly widened and the bank areas were lowered. The sole, bank and floodplain are once again becoming attractive habitats for typical representatives of the local flora and fauna.
