Impressive architecture, the best view point is from the Pont Picard but you can see them really well from down there. These houses have been build in the 15 and 16 century and have been recognised as historical heritage after the war.

Pont-en-Royan is a medieval village built in the 16th century at the entrance to the Gorges de la Bourne.
Crossed by the Bourne, its houses were built on the rock to protect them from the flooding of the river. The village benefits from a municipal camoing which will allow you to stop for a few days to go on an excursion in the surroundings and why not, to the medieval ruins higher up above the village.
