The Slufter is a dune area with creeks that are in open connection with the North Sea. The area can be flooded during a storm or extremely high water. At low tide, the seawater only flows into the creeks. The Slufter is an ideal place for birds and salt-tolerant plants such as samphire. The area is protected and only accessible on the southern side. Here you can follow the path from the Slufter stairs to the beach.
