                Driving up from Courgenay was manageable - the descent to Saint Ursanne was just great.
                I just didn't want to drive up from Saint Ursanne, because it's a few meters more.

                  The Col de la Croix is a pass in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is located in the Bernese Alps between the towns of Bex and Les Diablerets, the crest of the road (with bus stop, car park and snack bar) is 1776 m above sea level. M.. The saddle point (with trail junction) is located 300 meters south-southeast at 1732 m above sea level. M[1][2]

                  Near the top of the pass on both sides of the road are the gypsum pyramids (Pyramides de Gypse), which were formed to a point by erosion.[3]

                  In winter, when the pass road is closed to traffic, the route is used as a toboggan run.
