The view from the Bismarkturm over Göttingen into the Leinetal is very beautiful. The Pluto station on the Göttingen Planet Trail is also here. The planetary path does not end here. The previous end is approx. 3 kilometers further in Diemarden am Mühlendamm. There is a stele there for some trans-Neptunian heavenly bodies.

The Bismarck tower in the city forest offers a great view of Göttingen, but also in the direction of the Harz you have a good view in good weather. Incidentally, the visit to the tower can be combined with a trip to the Kehr.

The opening hours of the tower:

The construction of the tower was financed by the citizens of Göttingen themselves.
They collected the money to build the tower by organizing bazaars with stalls, dancing and music. There were also 26 sponsors whose names are immortalized in the tower room on the first floor.

The 30 meter high Bismarck Tower is located in the Hainberg in Göttingen. A trip here is more than worthwhile, because: The tower is not only beautifully situated in the middle of the Göttingen Forest, but also offers one of the most beautiful views over Göttingen and the Leinetal up to the heights of the Harz Mountains. The hiking trails to the Bismarck Tower are well developed. On this route you can get your heart rate up with an afternoon walk in the Göttingen city forest. After a good 120 meters in altitude you reach the Bismarck Tower. The entrance fee is Euro 2 for adults and Euro 1 for children. There is also a small selection of paid drinks.
