A very nice place to stay. There is seating under the open sky or covered by a beautiful wooden pavilion. The little kitchens here are nice to look at. Huch !!! ... ... how did the big ship come here?

Anyone wanting to get from Dornbusch to the beautiful Elbe island of Krautsand uses a bascule bridge over the southern Elbe in Wischhafen. This applies to cars, cyclists and pedestrians. But for how long? The structure is dilapidated and urgently needs extensive renovation.

On June 17th, 2024, we asked a woman and her dog for directions. We wanted to know if you could cross the bridge on the Wischhafener Süderelbe by bike. But she didn't know her way around. She was probably on vacation in Krautsand. As we continued our journey, a couple came towards us on their bikes and told us that the bridge was closed. We then rode back with them. The woman with the dog on a leash was still standing on the path and we rode past her. My wife was the last one. The dog snapped and bit my right calf.
A relatively small wound became infected and we drove to the hospital in Flensburg on June 20th, 2024, where we were treated. We were advised not to continue our journey by bike. We therefore had to end our cycling trip. Perhaps someone can provide information about the dog owner or has met her. Middle-aged woman, 45 to 50 years old, long dark hair. Dog shoulder height approx. 50 cm, long, mottled black, brown, beige hair.
